Q: Could you please briefly introduce Zimmer Austria and its products in the floor covering sector?

A: Zimmer is a recognized leader in the carpet industry, known for our state-of-the-art Chromojet and Colaris printing systems. We are committed to innovation and constantly launch new machines and technologies to meet the changing needs of the market. Our latest product, the Colaris printing system, has been developed over several years and provides printing solutions from 2 meters to 5 meters in width.

Our comprehensive product line includes complete production lines with fixing, washing and drying systems. In addition, we also provide stand-alone printers for customers who want to upgrade existing production lines. Our printing solutions are suitable for a variety of carpet types, including tufted carpet, woven carpet, needle punched carpet, soft carpet and Rachel carpet. In addition, we also offer a variety of back coating options to meet the specific requirements of our customers.

The Middle East has a rich carpet making tradition and we have always considered the region to be an important market for us. Despite recent challenges, especially in printing, we remain optimistic about the growth potential in the region. Our investment in new technologies, such as printing on woven carpets, has attracted great interest, especially in the luxury segment. We have successfully implemented several projects and won many customers in the past few years, which once again proved our commitment to the Middle East market.

Q: How does digital printing help manufacturers improve product quality?

A: Digital printing offers tremendous advantages to carpet manufacturers, especially in terms of efficiency and speed in bringing designs to market. The digital printing technology has clear advantages in the e-commerce sector by enabling rapid production and delivery. With digital printing, manufacturers benefit from a wide range of color options and size flexibility, facilitating a rapid transition from design conception to market supply. In addition, customization options are virtually unlimited, allowing for custom designs to meet different market needs.

The versatility of digital printing covers a variety of areas, including contract carpets and hotel carpets, ensuring the ability to adapt to different market needs and design preferences. In addition, digital printing can provide significant cost savings compared to traditional weaving methods by minimizing yarn waste and eliminating the need for large inventories. The ability to print on demand further improves efficiency, allowing for timely delivery to customers without maintaining large inventories.

Digital printing has made significant progress in solving sustainability issues. Although washing is required after the printing process, technological advances have significantly reduced water and energy consumption compared to traditional systems. Q: How do you foresee the development of digital printing technology?

A: Looking ahead, digital printing is expected to become more environmentally friendly and require less resources such as water and energy. Currently, significant progress has been made in reducing water consumption, in some cases, only 3 liters water is needed for per square meter, while the previous standard was 12 liters water per square meter. As technology advances, this trend towards greater efficiency and water conservation is likely to continue.
